Welsh rugby twin contracts list ‘over 50’, says WRU chief

More than 50 players are being deliberate for twin contracts, Welsh Rugby Union (WRU) trainer Roger Lewis says.

Of those players,

10 to 15

are approaching to be awarded a agreement

as partial of a deal

between a WRU and a regions.

Negotiations have begun between a 4 regions and a WRU to plead that players should be selected.

“We’ll work together with a regions to safeguard that a really best players are looked after,” Lewis said.

Initially, a £60m understanding suggested twin contracts would be offering to 6 players though that series has given risen.

“Those 50 players contingency be looked after during a top turn so if they don’t make it on to a inhabitant twin agreement list, we’ve got to still safeguard those players are given a best probable opportunity,” arch executive Lewis said.
